“These guys rock…A wickedly good band,
Robby’s a true guitar slinger!” –
Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones

“These guys could play on any stage.”
-
Sir Paul McCartney

Second-generation rocker Robby Vee, son of Bobby Vee, brings his three-piece band and pop, swing, rockabilly and bop to Crossings on Sat., March 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Audiences can expect an electrifying performance by Vee, a musician with that special mix of talent, determination and energy who knows how to get audiences moving and keep them wanting more. His live performances are known for their “passion, fun energy and originality.”

Vee has released three solo albums, “Viva La Twang,” “Liquid Love” and “Bop.” The band will perform a range of original songs from past releases and the most recent recording, “Viva La Twang.” “Viva” features tributes to music Vee recorded with his father, '60s hit-maker Bobby Vee, to The Vee’s (a band consisting of two brothers and himself), and to Buddy Holly’s Crickets – as well as some good old fun favorites.

“We've been working hard to expand our reach to local theaters and bring our toe tappin’ show to rock-n-roll fans throughout the Midwest. This is a tremendous opportunity to perform for the people who have supported the Vee name, whether it be my father, The Vee’s or myself for so many years,” Vee said.

Band members include Robby Vee (lead singer and guitar player), King Creole on standup bass, and Jeff “Crash Boom Bang It Out” Bjork on drums, both the original rhythm section for Minneapolis Rockabilly favorites Jack Knife and the Sharps. Rounding out the band on saxophone will be Jumpin’ Jimmy Greenwell, an original member of Lamont Cranston.

Vee has learned from, and shared credits and stages with the architects and legends of Rock ‘N’ Roll, such as Little Richard, the Everly Brothers, Carl Perkins, Sir Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Dion, The Righteous Brothers, Buddy Holly’s Crickets, Dick Clark and his ‘Caravan of Stars Rock ‘N’ Roll Show’ and many more.
