Between picture books and adult literature lies the world of fiction for young readers—a rich and varied place that’s home to everyone from Junie B. Jones and Stuart Little to Harry Potter and Katniss Everdeen.

In this class, we’ll discuss early reader, middle grade, and young adult fiction, (as well as the gray areas in between), and use writing exercises to explore the elements of craft particular to these categories, from content to voice.

Whether you are polishing a manuscript, brainstorming story ideas, or simply curious about kid lit in general, this class hopes to offer something for you.
