Handbuilding Basics with Karen Flynn

No spinning wheels going round here. Handbuilding with clay is a very therapeutic method of creating beautiful pottery. We’ll roll out clay into slabs and put those slabs over molds to create some very nice bowls and plates. Kurinuki is another interesting handbuilding method, where you form your piece from a lump of solid clay, let it dry a bit, cut it in half, scoop out the inside and put it back together again. The last class we will work with slabs of clay to free form some mugs, adding textures to emphasize interesting glazes. And of course we will do a little clay pinching.
Bring your ideas and a friend for three weeks of fun with clay. No experience necessary.

Class will be held Tuesdays, Sep 14, 21 & 28
from 6:30-8:30pm.

No experience is necessary, just a desire to create!

$75 + $18 supplies and $3 firing fees for each piece
