Tired of the cold dragging days of winter? Longing for spring to arrive in Minnesota? Then this class may be for you! We’ll be creating colorful and funky garden globes to brighten our gardens even before blooms have a chance to peek! Lift your spirits in a fun class and create two joyful garden globes to take home with you.

This class is primarily a surface decorating experience.
Each student will have the opportunity to glaze two garden globes.

  • Day 1: Each student will receive a “leather hard” globe (created by the instructor)   to decorate in the sgraffito method: scratching through a glaze surface to reveal a lower layer of the contrasting clay color.

  • Day 2: Each student will receive a “bisqued” globe (created by the instructor); this globe will be glazed in the neo-majolica method, using a wax resist and a layering of colored glazes to create a bright and textured surface.

  • Day 3: Each student will enhance their globes with spirals of wire and other accessories such as beads, buttons, or other items they might find and bring to class.

Reservations are taken on a first come first serve basis. Many of our classes fill up early - so don't wait too long!
